Sophia’s research is looking at the variation in prey compositions between the Kamloops urban and rural populations of mountain chickadees using environmental DNA metabarcoding. She is accomplishing this by extracting and analyzing the arthropod prey DNA in chickadee nestlings’ fecal sacs.
